AR15 / M4 Reduced Power Carbine Buffer Spring - Yellow

RTB Reduced power carbine buffer spring has roughly 20% less spring tension than your standard buffer spring. This low powered buffer spring is ideal when used in conjunction with a lightweight carrier and/or an adjustable gas block to minimize recoil.

By reducing the weight of your action with lightweight parts and reducing the amount of spring tension, you can tune the gas block way down, which almost completely eliminates recoil! An easy way to think of it is (less mass reciprocating at a lower speed inside of your rifle). This buffer spring can also help under gassed AR15 rifles cycle properly and aid in last round bolt hold open.

    Works good

    I had 556 20" upper that didn't like to lock back on last round. This spring worked good and allowed the bolt to lock on last round. I do recommend trying this spring.

    Used this recoil spring will 2.2 Oz buffer for reduced charged 5.56 / 223. Worked very well. This solves my problem with using gas checked, copper plated cast bullets in an AR15 platform.

    A little more speed

    Combined this spring with a lower mass bcg for my AR15. Perfect match. Reduced recoil and barrel rise. Definitely recommend.

    Replacement Buffer Tube Spring

    Replaced the buffer in my piston driven M4 AR15 with a 4 ounce anti-tilt buffer. Needed a reduced power buffer tube spring to allow the rifle to cycle properly. This spring worked absolutely perfect in this application. Have now put over 1K rounds through the rifle with not a single failure of the rifle to cycle properly. Spring was measured prior to install and after 500 rounds and was exactly the same length.

    Excellent results

    I have a PSA 16" freedom rifle, mid-length gas system, full auto BCG, 1/7 twist barrel, carbine buffer tube and spring that was showing signs of being under-gassed. Bolt would not hold open on last round, spent casing ejected at around 5 o'clock, failure to pickup next round, etc. The reduced power carbine buffer spring solved all of these problems. It now ejects spent casings at around 330 to 4 o'clock, stays open after last round is fired, and cycles each and every round flawlessly. Additionally, the item was shipped fast and was easy to install.
