There is always some hesitation drilling into a new barrel but I felt confident with this tool. I followed the simple instructions and it worked great.

Makes dimpling a barrel so simple even I can do it
I have one of these that I bought several moons ago, and it's been sitting in my tool drawer. I usually buy .75" barrels, and borrow a friend's dimpling jig (and my friend to do the dimpling). This time, on a whim, I bought a pencil profile barrel, and found myself with a barrel my friend couldn't dimple.
Strangely enough, I recalled having a jig somewhere, and when I took it out, it was a .625 jig! Sure enough, it fit my new barrel, and when I put it to use, it was simple enough that I could do it without assistance.
Now I have a dimpled barrel, and am ready to go!
The money this costs is saved in effort expended.
I recommend this jig with no reservations. If you need to dimple a barrel, you can't do it any easier than with this one.

Shoulda bought sooner
I've been assembling ARs since 1982, almost always used a factory installed FSB-barrel assembly. The modern type rifle uses a low profile gas block, and a dimpling tool is required for a real quality build. Sure, I have some that aren't dimpled and never moved for 10k+ rounds. But the dimple tool ensures near perfect alignment, and greatly increases the chances the gas block will stay in place. This is a quality tool that is very easy to use and understand, at a ridiculous price. Buy with confidence.

Beyond impressive!
Wow! Better than the BRD (Black Rifle Disease) dimpling jig! Definitely gonna get the others so I have all sizes to do this to any barrel! At this price point you cannot go wrong! I've seen it done by eyeballing and by using a gas block to drill the dimples and if you are comfortable taking that risk with a barrel... Go for it! But I'd you want the best in guaranteed "gonna work" gas block setting then get this!
Also, shipping was as fast as Primary Arms! And if you buy parts then you know PA! This is saying a lot for RTB!

just what I needed
I have always just eye balled the gas block and shot some air through it to make sure the gas port is lined up and I have got away with that but then I discovered this tool. Now I can be sure it is properly aligned.
